Youth Mental Health Programs
Students form a particularly vulnerable population for mental health concerns such as difficulty concentrating, mood swings, peer pressure, bullying and low self-esteem, impacting their academic performance negatively.
Understanding the diverse needs of the students, and staff and administration, a comprehensive approach to addressing mental well-being in college students is recommended.
The program includes:
- • Setting up of a multiple-gated screening system
- • Promoting psychosocial competence through workshops
- • Positive parenting
- • Gatekeeper training for teachers
- • Individual/Group therapy for at-risk adolescents
- • Establishing a positive school community
